This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit this website and when you use the Plan, Train & Progress app for iPhone, Android and Apple Watch. In short: the app works without an account, your workouts are stored on your devices and we never receive them.
Data controller
The controller is the owner shown at the top of this page. You can write to their contact email about anything related to privacy.
This website
- No cookies or analytics. The site uses no cookies, includes no analytics or advertising tools and has no forms.
- Server logs. As with any website, the hosting provider receives technical data about each visit (IP address, browser, page requested, date and time) and may keep it for a limited time for security and to keep the site running. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available (article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Email. If you write to us, we use your address and your message only to reply, and keep them for as long as the conversation lasts and afterwards for as long as needed to deal with any possible liability. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in answering your query.
The app
No account. The app asks for no sign-up, email or name.
Your workouts stay on your devices. Routines, sessions, records, settings and history are stored on your phone (iPhone or Android) and, if you use one, your Apple Watch, which syncs directly with the iPhone over Apple’s connection between the two. We don’t receive them or store them on our servers.
Health data. If you allow it, the app uses Apple Health (Health Connect on Android):
- it reads heart rate and active energy during the session, to show them live;
- it reads your weight, height, age and sex, to calculate the calories of each session;
- it saves completed workouts and their calories to Apple Health or Health Connect.
This data is processed only on your devices: it is not sent to our servers or to third parties and is never used for advertising. You can withdraw the permission at any time in the iPhone’s Health settings or in Health Connect on Android. The legal basis is your explicit consent (article 9(2)(a) GDPR).
Notifications. Rest alerts and the end-of-trial reminder are local notifications scheduled by your own device. We send no notifications from a server.
Language packs. To use the app in a language other than English, the app downloads that language’s texts from our server. The request only names the language and, like every internet connection, includes your IP address, which may stay in the server’s technical logs for a limited time. The legal basis is providing the service you request by choosing the language (article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Purchases and subscription. The subscription is purchased and paid for in the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google process the payment data under their own privacy policies; we receive neither your payment details nor your identity, only the confirmation, on your device, that the subscription is active.
No advertising or tracking. The app shows no ads, includes no third-party analytics or advertising tools and doesn’t track you across apps or websites.
Recipients
We don’t share your data with third parties. The only providers involved are the hosts of this website and of the language pack server, acting as processors. Should any of them be outside the European Economic Area, the transfer would be covered by the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Retention
App data is kept on your devices until you delete it or remove the app. The servers’ technical logs are kept only as long as their purpose requires.
Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability by writing to the contact email. Because your workouts are only on your devices, you can also view, change or delete them directly in the app.
If you believe we haven’t handled your rights properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or the data protection authority of your country.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 14.
Changes
If the way we handle data changes, for example because a new feature is added, we will update this policy and its date before the change takes effect.
